If you love mountains, nature, and an easygoing lifestyle surrounded by kind people, then Graz, Austria, is the perfect destination for your Erasmus journey. My time studying at FH Campus 02 was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made—not only for the high-quality education but also for the unforgettable experiences and friendships I gained along the way.
Academic Excellence with a Practical Approach
Studying at FH Campus 02 provided me with invaluable practical knowledge that perfectly complemented my academic background. Every professor was fully engaged in our learning process, ensuring that classes were interactive and industry-relevant.
Although some master’s courses were held on weekends, the enthusiasm and dedication of the professors made it worthwhile. Their energy and willingness to answer questions and support students turned even the most challenging subjects into enjoyable learning experiences.
What stood out the most was the passion both students and professors shared for their fields. Discussions went beyond textbooks, and every class felt like an opportunity to grow. While some subjects were more demanding than others, the engaging teaching style made studying feel effortless.
The university’s hands-on approach ensured that we not only learned theory but also applied it in real-world scenarios—preparing us for future careers in the best way possible.
A Vibrant Erasmus Community and Social Life
One of my biggest concerns before arriving was whether I would easily make friends. However, FH Campus 02 and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) made sure that every international student felt welcome.
Despite the Erasmus community being relatively small, the university organized meet-ups and events at the beginning of the semester, making socializing effortless.
Graz, Austria’s second-largest city, is known for hosting some of the best Erasmus events and parties in the country. Thanks to ESN, there was always something fun happening—whether it was themed parties, weekend trips, or cultural exchanges. Meeting new people from all over the world became one of the highlights of my stay.
Graz: A City of Kindness, Youth, and Adventure
Beyond academics, what truly made me fall in love with Graz was its welcoming atmosphere. The city has a youthful vibe, with students everywhere. After classes, grabbing a coffee with friends in one of the many cozy cafés near the university was a daily pleasure.
The best part?
Striking up conversations with locals and fellow students was incredibly easy—everyone was open and friendly.
Graz’s central location also makes it an ideal base for exploring Europe. With affordable travel options, I took weekend trips to neighboring countries like Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia. Whether it was hiking in the Alps, exploring Ljubljana’s charming streets, or relaxing by the Adriatic Sea, every adventure was just a short trip away.
A Life-Changing Experience
Studying in Graz was more than just an academic exchange—it was a transformative experience that enriched my life in countless ways. I gained not only professional knowledge but also lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and a broader perspective on the world.
The combination of high-quality education, a vibrant social scene, and the city’s natural beauty made my Erasmus journey truly unique.
I will forever be grateful to both Transilvania University and FH Campus 02 for giving me this incredible opportunity to grow. If you’re looking for a perfect balance between studies, adventure, and personal development, Graz is the place to be. Don’t hesitate—pack your bags and get ready for the experience of a lifetime!
